Welcome to my world. I am an Electrical Engineer/Computer Scientist working as an IT Security Architect by profession and a book collector and reader by passion. I am married to a wonderful lady and we have adopted both a girl and a boy, 10 months apart. Oh, what joy!!!
I primarily collect boy's books from the 1850's through the 1950's focusing on American authors such as Horatio Alger, Harry Castlemon, Frank Converse, Edward Ellis, Elijah Kellog, Oliver Optic, James Otis, Edward Stratemeyer, C. A. Stephens and John Trowbridge and English authors such as Robert Ballantyne, F. S. Brereton, Harry Collingwood, George Manville Fenn, G. A. Henty, W. H. G. Kingston, Mayne Reid, Gordon Stables, and Herbert Strang. I also collect Jules Verne, Peter Parley To Penrod titles, books illustrated by Maud Humphrey, dime novels, story papers, periodicals, vintage paperbacks, ephemera related to authors and publishing, western and outdoors authors such as Louis L'amour, Zane Grey, Peter B. Kyne, and James Oliver Curwood, American history books and ephemera, and many current fiction authors such as Lee Child, Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Robert Ludlum, David Morrel, and many more.
I read what I collect and thoroughly enjoy research, collecting and reading. I have a large book collecting reference library and am a member of the Horatio Alger Society, the G. A. Henty Society, and the North American Jules Verne Society. I subscribe to and strongly recommend Yellowback Library, Dime Novel Roundup, The Sea-Fairy, and Firsts periodicals.
My wife collects Maud Humphrey figurines, plates, and ephemera and Boyd's Yesterday's Child figurines. We both collect antiques lamps and furniture. Below are a couple partial views of my library.
