ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Hi, I'm Sheri McDonald. I'm a happily married mother to
four, ranging in age from infancy to 16 years. I live in a small
town in Southwestern Ontario, Canada and I am employed as a support worker for
persons with disabilities. Aside from reborning, I have several hobbies and
interests including contesting, crocheting, sewing, reading, web design, camping
and amateur photography.
I have been admiring reborn dolls for many
years, and studying the art of creating them for almost as long. With the recent
introduction of reborning using Genesis heat set paints, reborning became a
whole new art and a new level of realism was born. MacPherson Crafts in St.
Marys, Ontario has been offering beginners and advanced classes in reborning and
I had the opportunity to take a beginner’s class taught by reborn artist Cheryl
Bage. Through this class and through the sharing of information with other
reborn artists from all over the world, my techniques in reborning have
developed and continue to grow and change with each new creation.
Along with my
friend, Cheryl Bage, I am the owner and editor of Lifelike Dolls Magazine. This
is the first North American magazine dedicated to the art of reborning, and also
to OOAK sculpts. We send out six issues a year and they include articles about
many doll related topics, Featured Artists, tutorials and so much more!
