I've been a professional photographer for about 25 years now, and have had the pleasure and honor to photograph some of the most respected individuals from both sports and the political field. I've also been in retail for about the same amount of time, even owning a little shop just minutes from Crawford, Texas. Both worlds happened to collide around the year 2000 when the former General Partner of a baseball team in Texas and a Crawford resident became the 43rd President of the United States.
Crawford Texas Memorabilia
It was one of those opportunities that just seem to fall in your lap. Several of us covering or working for the president were sitting around the press filing center in Crawford in August of 2001, wishing we had something to do. It was one of many long days in Texas that President Bush spent handling the business of the country from the comfort of his beloved Prairie Chapel Ranch and far from the eye of the White House Press corps. I jokingly made a comment that I was going to make a T-shirt that says 'HURRY UP AND WAIT' on it because that's exactly what we were doing....we would hurry up and get to the filing center to wait for something to happen.
Thats when one of the White House staffers said that if I really wanted to produce an item that they wanted, to make a navy polo with the seal and Crawford, Texas. With that, my business was born! I still take photos, but Western White House Gifts seems to be taking up a lot of my 'spare' time. A good deal of the Crawford products I offer are actually made at the request of a staffer then I sell the remainder of what I have to order to the public. I also am able to acquire additional official memorabilia and collectibles that I sometimes list on eBay when there just are not enough pieces to offer on my website. Additionally, I find or am offered some other Bush items that are just wonderful, fun items that that I can't resist sharing!
I collect Bush Presidential memorabilia and try to only offer products that I would like to own myself. I have been blessed to be able to help provide memorabilia and gifts for Presidents, Princes and Prime Ministers! I hope you like what I have to offer! Thanks for looking!
