I am still quite new to selling on Ebay! I posted my first items for sale the week of October 23 2008 - just in time for Halloween!

Although I am a scientist (Biologist) and university educator by profession, art has always been one of my favorite pastimes! As a hobby, I have previously painted classical studies of the Old Masters, nature, wildlife and still lifes.

I tried out ACEOs for the first time in September 2008 and really enjoyed the process - I have always enjoyed working small! I have always loved classical children's illustrations and vintage style pictures, so thought I would try those as ACEO subjects to start with. The inspiration for many of my vintage-style cards comes from old, out-of-print illustrations. It is such a shame that most of us can no longer see these wonderful drawings. I do lots of research to find those illustrations that most appeal to me, some of them almost 100 years old or more. I then like to recreate these in my own style. When available, I note down the source and original year of publication. I am also a lover of whimsical art and I have been having fun creating my own, mostly based on animals that I have a passion for! In the future, I also plan to paint some original small works of art (OSWOA) and more small format art (SFA) on more traditional subjects such as still lifes, nature and wildlife, as well as hand-painted greeting cards and bookmarks.
