Hello! It is now 2007. I remember I used to sit on my grandmother's porch with needle thread and material and 2 fat fox terriers that would let me dress them all day once I designed their outfits. I now have 2 cats and a large dog; a Rottie & Dobie mix, Princess. The dog is now almost 7 years old. I rescued her, from what I do not know. All I know is that it took 2 years to get her to a place of normalcy. She was very scared when I got her. She was not a happy camper. After spending a week in bed with her, I used aversion therapy. I would hide and pop out and say "Boo"; it is now a game. Do you know she used that therapy on my skiddish cat who would not let anyone touch her and now the cat is lovable. I kid you not. The dog would hide behind the A/C and run up on the cat and ponce in front of her. The cat has been touchable since, and believe me for 10 years she was untouchable. This cat would walk the outer walks and stare at you; why I do not know...was like that as a kitten. Animals are smart and great companions. Don't you wish people were so loyal and true?
Addendum: 2009-Boy things have changed. My 7 year old Princess died suddenly one night; an anurisism we think. She went out before bed and just minutes later she was laying in the back yard. The skiddish cat had cancer and I had to put her down. The other cat is gone too. They were both around 15-16 years old. Their mother lived to be 19. I now have a huge American Staffordshire Bull Terrier. I did not think I would ever have any kind of bull terrier but just fell in love with her. She is very gentle and loving. We call her Poppy. Since named she has lived up to her name. She pops toys up in the air and catches them and sometimes she will pop it in your direction as if to play catch. I do not have much time for my Ebay store with my job but I love animals and sell at the flea market sometimes; just talking to people who own dogs. There are a lot of stories and testimonials; animals add joy to so many. I still grieve over the "dog of my life" Princess but life goes on and Poppy sure tries to make each day special in her own way. Denise whiskersandbones.com
