I love arts and crafts. Anything someone took the time to make by hand is amazing to me. I think I have read every how-to book I could get my hands on and taught myself to do many things and some things I got pretty good at. Others...well, let's just say I at least tried. I am never bored, in fact I don't believe in being bored, there is just boring people. We all have the most incredible brains that have talents just hiding in there and waiting to be encouraged. As long as a person does not compare him self to anyone else, which is so destructive to creativity, he can accomplish great things within his own ability. I was raised with the I can attitude and don't wait around for someone else to do it. At least try. I raised my kids with the same thoughts and both have surprised me with the things they can do. This world has become such a make it cheap and throw it away system that quality is really antique because it is so hard to find in anything new. There is so much value in things well made because they last and if you can add unique and useful to it well, you'll really have something that everyone will desire. When I buy items to resale I think about all these things. Would I want it? If the answer is no then I forget about buying it. When I make things to sale I put a lot of thought into the quality. I think about who I want to by it. Like dolls, for instance, first they have to feel good in my arms. I have to love them. When I make clothes for them I think about who will play with them and I want them to be sturdy and pretty and easy to use. I want my dolls to be loved.
