This is my Father's world, and to my listening ears
All nature sings, and 'round me rings the music of the spheres.
This is my Father's world: I rest me in the thought
Of rocks and trees, of skies and seas—His hand the wonders wrought.This is my Father's world, the birds their carols raise,
The morning light, the lily white, declare their Maker's praise.
This is my Father's world: He shines in all that's fair;
In the rustling grass I hear Him pass, He speaks to me everywhere.

Vacation where the Buffalo Roam . . . Children are noticeably welcome!

Any news about us would usually be about our grandchildren, or our Black Hills outdoor adventures, or our antique hunts, or about our South Dakota Bed and Breakfast in the Black Hills near Mount Rushmore...
Mountains To Prairies Bed and Breakfast is advantageously located in Hill City right in the center of the Black Hills National Forest, near South Dakota’s great attractions, including Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument, Custer State Park, caves, mountain lakes and truly spectacular scenic drives. Many excellent family attractions are nearby, such as the Wildlife Loop, Bear Country USA, Reptile Gardens, Wades Gold Mill, Everything Prehistoric Gift Shop and Dinosaur Museum. For the not so faint at heart, awe-inspiring climbing and trekking opportunities beckon via massive granite vistas and wilderness trails, particularly in the Harney Peak area. Or, if inclined to more leisurely pastimes, hunting antiques is a rewarding one. As long as there are visitors to these beautiful Black Hills there will be as many diverse ways to experience them. Three distinctive suites are available to make our guests feel welcome. A beautifully hand-crafted log stairway leads to the log-accented suite (named after the German mother of the hostess) Bluma Madle, with a front sitting area having a desk and a log loft Bear Den for sleepy kid campers; while the comfortable master room has other welcoming amenities, such as airjet bathtub and refrigerator. The knotty pine cabin-style suite (named after the southern mother of the host) Chessie Lee’s Peas, has a personal entrance, bay view pellet stove, refrigerator, microwave and a cozy Nook with cypress twin bed, handy for a little sleepyhead or an adult. This suite lodges up to five guests when the optional Tree House Loft, with a half bath, is used. The third, most recent pine-clad addition is Prairie Homestead, which also has a personal entrance and a Nook, a deck, refrigerator, microwave, loveseat, copper sink embossed with wild flowers and other interesting features reminiscent of prairie life.
All three suites have private full baths, antique/unique furnishings, queen pillowtop beds, satellite hd tv/dvd/vcr, internet, cove heat and AC, plus ceiling fans.
Discounts are offered for early reservations and lingering longer. The inn is smoke and pet free. Children are welcome. A full, delicious and nutritious breakfast is served each morning. Pleasant for catching a breeze is the wraparound sitting porch. In-house is an Espresso Bar and more.
The inn is a brief walk to everything Hill City offers, just 1-1/2 blocks to historic downtown, presenting delicious dining, fine art, specialty shops. Equally close are the popular Mickelson Trail (trails from rails for hiking, running and biking) and the 1880 Train, which travels the path of fascinating local history.
