I am Mom to an incredibly wonderful and beautiful adult daughter and an incredibly wonderful and handsome teenage son. These two people are my heart. I'm Mom, too, to Rosie the daschund and the 2 cats who strayed here and stayed; Scooter and Whisper. We care for a few acres of rural land in West Tennessee. We nurture and pray for the ticks and poison ivy, celebrate and honor their very holiness. I have coyotes, owls, humming birds, chipmunks, fox, possum, snakes, moles & mice, skunk, eagles, hawks, deer and wild dogs. We own ragweed, stinkweed, every sneezing, sinus weed imaginable You can see the Milky Way from my porch. Heaven here on earth.
My other world is Alaska. I've been back and forth for years. I get so excited about beads and beadwork in Alaska. My mother-in-law taught me how to do the traditional Athabaskan method of sewing the seed beads onto moose hide. My first project was moose hide baby booties for my impending son. Project consisted of two tiny flowers, I ripped them out and resewed them throughout the entire pregnancy! Finally Mom told me, "It's just beads, it can't be perfect". I've gone on to complete many huge projects with beads on moosehide, including a pair of knee high boots with intricate flowers from the toe to the knee. I just needed to be told it's not supposed to be perfect. Don't ever be surprised to find me in my other home; Alaska.
