MY BACKGROUND!!!
I was born & raised at Snyder, OK. located in the southwest part of that state. I joined the USArmy in 1953 & retired in 1976 as a Lt Col--basic branch was Artillery but I was also an Aviator so spent most of those years in flying jobs. I served as a fixed-wing/rotary-wing pilot in Korea and and twice in Vietnam. In between Vietnam tours, I attended the US Army Command & General Staff College, Ft. Leavenworth, KS, and then served as a test pilot with the US Army Aviation Test Board, Ft. Rucker, AL--my job there was Project Manager & Chief Test Pilot for the Army's AH-1G (HueyCobra) Service Test. I have about 4450 flying hours which is about half helicopter/half fixed-wing time (that total includes about 1300 hours of combat flying time.) My best and most enjoyable job in the Army was Battalion Commander of a very large battalion (6 companies & 2050 personnel) at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. I am now a rancher & part-time college professor and I live in Rolla, MO. which is located in south-central Missouri on I-44. My wife is a retired Kindergarten school-teacher who now spends time consulting for pre-schools and being a member of many organizations. We have two grown children--a son & a daughter--and seven super-wonderful grand-children.
WINGS MODELS, LLC.!!!
I purchased "Wings 72 & 48 Inc." from Mr. Don Bratt of Grand Rapids, MI in October 2002. I moved the company to Rolla, MO and changed the name to "WINGS MODELS, LLC." Wings Models makes 88 different 1/72 and 1/48 scale aircraft models most of which are not available from any other source. Future plans include a more modern lineup of aircraft models--X-model research and fighter/bomber planes in 1/144, 1/72, 1/48 and 1/32 scales--plus HO model railroad kits and items not available elsewhere. I sold most of my cattle operation in October, 2000 when I had a full left knee replacement--I could still think like a cow but could no longer move like a cow!!! I had intended Wings Models to be a part-time operation to keep me sorta busy, but it is already full-time & growing. In February, 2004, I bought the EAGLES TALON Model company from Ed Clendenin of Dallas, TX, (66 more aircraft, armor & missile model kits) and have added the Eagles Talon kits to the Wings Models product line. We plan to up-date our kits so ALL of our kits have appropriate decals and cast resin/metal detail parts as time permits. Fortunately, my son, who is an attorney, is very interested in the company and now helps out in manufacturing on a part-time basis--hopefully, the company will grow enough to afford him on a full-time basis in the future. HOBBY INTERESTS!!!
I model railroad stuff in HO scale. I am primarily an ATSF fan but I also like most western railroads and about any colorful passenger train. I am interested in operating the trains more than scenery & super-details. Although I have a large basement with 32' x 36' of it claimed for my railroad, I don't have a running layout at this time. I am also interested in plastic airplane models & model airliners in 1/144 scale, military in 1/72 scale & civilian in 1/48 scale. I became interested in eBay as a means to dispose of excess/no longer wanted railroad/airplane items that have accumulated over the past 40 years. Ebay is so much fun that now, in addition to my own stuff, I also occasionally purchase railroad/airplane items at local sales, or on eBay, with hopes of re-selling them.

We DO NOT make money on shipping/handling charges--we only try to recover the costs of marketing/shipping an item!!! Payment may be by PayPal, cash, personal check, money order or certified check. NO BillPoint, Western Union or other telegraph money transfers, PLEASE!!! I expect to be paid for your purchase with 10 days after the end of the auction--If you cannot or will not do this, DON'T BID!!! FOREIGN BIDDERS--contact me before bidding or be prepared to pay much greater international shipping costs and to pay me with PayPal or an international money order payable in US dollars. Payment by PayPal, or USPS money order gets fast shipment--other MO & checks may require a 10-day bank-working-day shipping delay to allow bank clearance. Payment with US $$$ (cash) is at the buyer's own risk!!! I expect that you fully pay all costs associated with shipping your auction items. I primarily ship everything USPS priority mail--insured or confirmed delivery. If you choose the uninsured shipment, you must agree to be responsible for any shipping/loss/damage. There is no UPS customer counter in town & all of the "drop-off" stations charge a $5.00 fee for handing a shipment plus the UPS cost--makes UPS a little expensive!!!

We GUARANTEE our items to be as described in the auction--if we make a significant error and you want to return the item, we will give you a full refund and pay shipping costs in both directions. If you do not understand our description or anything else about the item to be sold, please ASK QUESTIONS before bidding/buying--We will answer EVERY question if there is time to do so.
