I started selling on Ebay for two reasons. One, I am returning to college and when your a "white" male over 25 there is a lot less money available. It can seem like scholarships are for everyone but you. I have a family to support even though I am a full time student and it is harder to find time to work. Reason two, I have a house full of great stuff that every one else would love, but is cluttering the place up. I also love to go to estate auctions. I can now do that and then sell great items to you great people.
There are many things that I think make for a great businessperson. Integrity is at the top of the list. As far as ebay goes, I think it includes having fair shipping and handling prices and letting you the buyer set the selling price. With shipping and handling I charge pretty darn close to what it costs me to get the items to you. Packing material, envelops, postage and fees; I try not to charge more then these. As far as prices go, I don't even have Reserve prices, and you would be hard pressed to ever find an auction that I place that starts at higher then $9.99, and most of them start for one small penny. You set the selling price by bidding. Lets be honest, if the item is good, and wanted, you will bid on it and so will others, thereby setting the final price. If I wanted to sell retail, I would set the prices high, but I love the excitement of actions where the bids go up and up, as long as the item is worth the cost. I also do the best I can to provide assistance and fast, prompt, courteous service. If you have a problem, let me do what I can to work it out. Feedback is a great way to see the integrity of your sellers and buyers, so we should all use this great tool to rate each other, but try FIRST to communicate to fix a problem before you leave a negative for anyone. I know I do.
