I have been an avid collector my whole life. When I was young I acquired my Uncle’s stamp collection and my Father’s coin collection. I continued collecting stamps and coins for about 20 years and have built an especially nice stamp collection.
I have always loved reading and also started collecting books early on. I started by belonging to several book clubs when I was young, but eventually graduated to collecting first editions. After many years I have built a large collection of signed and limited firsts, and have met several authors.
My favorite author is Harlan Ellison. I have most of his books in both limited and signed editions as well as firsts and reading copies. I have met Mr. Ellison on several occasions, and found him to be a very interesting person to talk to.
I also collect Joyce Carol Oates and have an extensive collection of firsts by her. Other smaller collections include Dan Simmons, Poppy Z. Brite, Bruce Sterling,
Lucius Shepard, Mary Higgins Clark, and several others.
I have so many books now and have so little room that I’ve decided to sell some of my collection as well as some of my stamps and coins. This way I can focus on fewer more complete author collections at higher values.
I will be posting my smaller book collections soon on ebay, as well as some Ellison duplicates. I have a dozen or so miscellaneous signed books which I’ll probably post first. I also have a number of plate blocks and silver coins from my other collections that I will sell.
I think I have a lot of desirable items and hope they can fill in gaps in another’s collection or just generally make someone else happy.
