scotty's adventures in glass some of my glass me working in the studio Hi there, thanks for looking at my page. I've been blowing glass since 1986. My glass is sort of a combination of European and American style in that I work with a lot of color in a European way, but my American art education makes me integrate a lot of our tradition. I have only had my own studio for the past three years, for the previous 17 I was working or teaching with with Dale Chihuly (the Bellagio ceiling guy), the Pilchuck School, The Glasshouse in Seattle and a few other glassmakers who each have made significant, though generally unrecognised contibutions to the "studio art glass movement". Before 1960 or so, most (all?) glass was made in the factory system. the designer and the maker were different people. The studio movement brought glassmaking into the grasp of individuals, changing just about everything people thought about glass. Anyway, I own a studio. Most of the year I make glass for collectors, museum shops and corporate awards. When it's too hot to work in the studio, I make glass tools for glassmakers - blowpipes and punties that sell here on ebay. Thanks for checking out my auction and your interest in my work!
