WHY
YOU SHOULD BUY FROM US!
- We are private individuals who give personal service and have no employees to blame things on. We do our own buying, cleaning, listing, packing and shipping so your transaction will be handled personally by us.
- Over
the past 20 years, we have bought and sold Antiques and Collectibles in
numerous antique malls from coast to coast. In June of 1997 we started
buying and selling on eBay and are now in our 12th year. With over 30
years of retail experience dealing directly with the public, plus 11 years of eBay selling, we know the meaning of Customer Service and
strive to provide it!
- We
thoroughly research and describe our items pointing out even minor
flaws so you will be fully informed before you bid.
- We
provide numerous large clear pictures from several angles so you can
see what you are buying.
- We
are NEVER too busy to answer your questions and will do so promptly.
- We
package your purchase carefully with clean materials and use the
correct size box so your treasure arrives intact and you
don't overpay for shipping. In all our transactions over the
past 10 years, we have only had two items reported broken and only one
reported lost.
- We
will never gouge you for shipping. Whenever possible we charge only
EXACT SHIPPING with NO HANDLING FEES!
- We
accept PayPal so your credit card transaction is fast, completely safe
and secure.
- We
typically ship within 24 to 48 hours after receiving cleared payment.
- Your
purchase will arrive CLEAN (unless it would detract from the value or
condition of the item) from our non-smoking home. It will be ready to
use, display or give as a gift.
TERMS
OF SALE
We
know the vast majority of the eBay community are honest and dependable
people and to you we express our deepest thanks and welcome your bids!
In order to ensure a speedy and smooth transaction we have detailed our
Terms of Sale below. These terms include information on bidding,
shipping and payments. We apologize for their length however please
read them carefully prior to placing a bid.
BIDDING:
We
work very hard to describe our items thoroughly and accurately. You
will never see "Picture Says it All" from us! Although we have been
buying and selling Antiques and Collectibles for a very long time we
certainly don't know everything there is to know about every item. We
do as much research on our items as possible and pass that information
along in our text. All items are sold AS IS with no implied warranties
or guarantees so please ask all questions prior to bidding. If you need
additional information or clarification on any item or our terms, it is
your responsibility to ask questions first. We encourage you to do so!

By
bidding on our auctions, you are declaring that you are of legal age
and can therefore enter into a legally binding contract. We reserve the
right to cancel any bid with hidden or excessively high negative
feedback. Due to eBay's sporadic problems and potential computer
glitches, we urge you to bid early so you won't miss out! In the event
that eBay has an outage within the last two hours of any auction we
reserve the right to cancel, close and or void the auction regardless
whether the auction ends during the outage or not. It will be our
discretion as to if and when the item will be relisted.
SHIPPING
ADDRESS:
We
will use a shipping calculator on our auctions whenever possible. The
shipping is based upon the address you have on file with eBay. If you
have moved or want the item shipped
elsewhere we may need to recalculate the charges. Please notify us. We
encourage you to use the eBay check out system to expedite your payment.
When using PayPal, please be aware that we ship to the PayPal CONFIRMED ADDRESS only! Please do not ask us to ship elsewhere unless you plan to pay via United States Postal Money Order or Personal Check, in which case we will gladly ship anywhere in the US.
Due to repeated problems with shipping to addresses outside the United States we require UNITED STATES addresses only! We no longer ship outside the U.S., No Exceptions! If you reside outside the United States and can provide a U.S. shipping address, to a friend or relative, then we will welcome your bid provided your payment is made with an International Postal Money Order in U.S. Funds only! An International Postal Money Order is the only acceptable method of payment in this particular situation unless your friend or relative wants to pay for the item via PayPal and we will ship to their Confirmed Address. Be sure to contact us PRIOR to placing your bid.
SHIPPING
& SHIPPING COSTS:
As
you are already aware shipping costs are extremely high, so we make
every effort to keep the additional
costs, over and above the auction, to a bare minimum. In most cases we
charge only actual shipping and insurance via US Priority or Parcel
Post Mail with little or no handling fee. We may, at our option, ship
via First Class or Media Mail if the merchandise fits the Post
Office's criteria and may use FedEx or UPS shipping services. In some
instances it may be necessary to quote a flat fee for small, flat,
paper or unusual items.
Merchandise will generally be shipped within 24 to 48 hours of receipt of cleared payment. When payment is made via
PayPal we ship to confirmed addresses only! We will notify you on the
day we ship your package.
After that, unfortunately, we are both at the mercy of the Postal
Service. PLEASE NOTE: The times supplied by the USPS for delivery are
approximate at best and may well take longer. As a general rule,
Priority Mail is FASTER than Parcel Post or Media Mail however, while
it is uncommon, we have seen Priority Mail take as long as three weeks
and both Parcel Post and Media Mail have upon occasion taken over a
month. We ask that you please be patient as once we deliver your
package to the Post Office we have no further control over its
handling. We realize that Priority Mail is a little more expensive but
we feel the speed of delivery is worth the difference. In most cases you will
have a choice of shipping options.
A Delivery Confirmation will automatically be added to all
packages. This is for
both yours and our protection and also is done in order to conform to
PayPal's policies. We will be happy to provide you with the
Delivery Confirmation number upon request. If you desire any other
special services please contact us by email prior to bidding. Any fees
associated with these additional services will be added to your total
due.
INSURANCE:
We
carefully wrap all of our packages to avoid any damage, however
accidents do happen and packages do get lost,
therefore we cannot be responsible for any damage or loss to items not
insured. We recommend that you add insurance to your purchase however,
in most cases the insurance is optional, so the decision is up to you.
We may require insurance be purchased on delicate, breakable and / or
very expensive items. PayPal requires a Signature Confirmation on any
item valued at $250 or more.
In
the unlikely event that an insurance claim is necessary, we will work
with you every step of the
way to a satisfactory conclusion. If your package is lost we will file
the claim as soon as possible. If the package is damaged, please keep
the original box along with all wrapping materials. You will need this
in order to complete your claim. We will send you the original
insurance receipt and you will need to take the box and contents along
with the receipt to your Post Office to file your claim.
PAYMENT:
We prefer payment via PayPal. It is the safest, easiest and fastest method of payment and will allow you to receive your package much faster. We do however, recognize that for some people PayPal may not be an option and we understand that some people either do not have a credit card or are uncomfortable with electronic payments. Therefore, as an alternative, we will accept United States Postal Money Orders or Personal Checks. Your personal check is welcome provided it is drawn on a US bank account with the same name as your eBay account. We reserve the right to delay shipment until the Check has cleared, generally 14 business days after deposit has been made.
That does not include weekends or holidays. Although it
hasn't been a huge problem we must state that any returned
checks will be charged a $35 fee. (That’s what our bank charges us!) You must then pay the total of the check plus the fee by a United States Postal Money Order before we will ship. We will
not redeposit a returned check. Due to the increase in Fraud, we no
longer accept Cashier's Checks, Money Grams or Non-Postal
Money Orders.
If
you win more than one of our auctions please don't initiate payment
until you receive an invoice
from us stating your total amount due with combined shipping.
Merchandise will generally be shipped within 24 to 48 hours of receipt of cleared payment.
When payment is made via PayPal we ship to confirmed addresses only! NO
exceptions!
Payment
must be in US FUNDS ONLY! Payment via PayPal is due within three (3)
days and all other payments are due within seven (7) days of the close
of the auction unless prior arrangements have been made. If payment is
not received within 7 days we may offer the item to the second high
bidder or relist it at our option. In addition we will file an Unpaid
Item Dispute with eBay as this is the only way to recover a portion of
our eBay fees.
FEEDBACK:
Upon completion of the transaction we respectfully request that you post Positive feedback for us and we hope that we have earned a Five (5) start rating in every category. While according to the eBay feedback page, 4 stars is considered a good rating, in reality eBay considers anything less than 4.8 to be poor. So anything less than 5 stars in every category actually hurts sellers.
Our position on feedback is as
follows: When we are the Buyers we post feedback immediately upon
receipt of the item. When we are the Sellers we do not consider the
sale complete until you have acknowledged receipt of your item by
posting feedback. We then consider the transaction complete and will
post feedback for you.
We
currently have a 100% Positive Feedback Rating so you can bid with
confidence. We encourage you to
read what our wonderful customers have said about us concerning fast
shipments, accurate shipping costs, careful packing and speedy communication.
If
for any reason you are not satisfied with or have a problem with your
item, we ask that you allow us the
opportunity to correct the situation before leaving a negative or
neutral feedback. Please understand we try to be as fair and honest as
possible however, at the same time we will not be held hostage by a
threat of Negative Feedback! All extortion threats will be reported immediately to eBay for their action.

RETURNS:
As
with any true auction All Sales are Final and all items are AS IS.
Buyer's remorse is
not an acceptable reason for return. Unless we have materially
misrepresented an item in our text or in correspondence with you there
will be no returns or refunds. Our auctions comply with the PayPal
Buyer Protection Policy. If you feel we
have made a mistake you must contact us within three (3) days of
receipt of the item and explain in detail what the discrepancy is. If
we find that we have materially misrepresented an item we will gladly
refund the purchase price upon return of the item in the same condition
it was sent. It must be returned via the United States Postal Service
and it must be insured. Unfortunately, shipping, handling
or insurance fees are not refundable. Returns must be made within 7 Days of receipt of the item.

work very hard to give a complete and accurate description of our items
and we do as much research as we
possibly can in order to allow the Buyer to make a completely informed

We
are looking for AYER items!
Our
last name is AYER and we are
distantly related to Dr. J. C. Ayer of Lowell, Massachusetts. In the
mid 1800s through the early 1900s his company produced many patent
medicine products including Ayer's Cherry Pectoral, Ayer's
Sarsaparilla, Ayer's Cathartic Pills, Ayer's Ague Cure and
Ayer's Hair Vigor to name just a few. By 1888, the Ayer Company boasted
that
nearly forty thousand merchants from Boston to San Francisco did
business with them. Many of their products were exported to other
countries as well.
The
Ayer Company issued many tradecards
and The Ayer's Almanac was first issued in 1853 printed in English. It
was later printed in 26 different languages and or variations. The Ayer
Company touted that their circulation was second only to that of the
Bible.
We
are interested in any items relating
to Dr. J. C. Ayer and his company. There are a number of advertising
items available including signs, bottles, tradecards, almanacs and
products.
In
addition we are also looking for any genealogy material related to the name AYER. There are also a number of other Ayer items we are looking for.
