Yosemite & Ebay
Well I have been collecting Yosemite since around 1980, or ten years old. We went on a trip and at that time the Oakhurst annual swapmeet was going on, and well, when you're are raised in a family of Antique collectors and you go to Yosemite, you get the bug. At least I did. I find it a privilege to be one of only a handful of private Yosemite Memorabilia Collectors in the country. Yosemite, having such a rich American as well as Californian History makes it such a wonderful topic to collect, research and of course, visit.
When I first signed up with Ebay in 1997, I found it to be quite wonderful for collecting Yosemite, but my competition, three more of the handful of collectors, have made me realize I have to share, darn. I always look forward to seeing what is new in the world of rare and antiquarian Yosemite and Californiana and it is a pleasure to see some of the things that go into our collections. Again, there is no place in the world quite like Yosemite, Enjoy it someday, I know I do everyday on my walls and in my cabinets.

Trains
Well here is a fun hobby of mine. Model railroading has been a part of my life since before I can remember. Several relatives very close to me had been avid collectors and modelers so it goes without saying that I too inherited the train bug. And it is a big bug. Wives and spouses can attest to that. My bug started in N scale at a young age and grew into Perwar tinplate. The timplate has always been a part of my decorum in my homes since my college years. Once I had a family, I thought it would be novel to have a small layout, LOL, in the house, so I returned to my N scale roots assuming I could put a small empire into a small space. HAHA. My father was an HO detail junky, having spent years on one building that included everything down to the policeman out front stealing an orange, so I have an affinity for detail, and soon found out, N scale was not for me. So I jumped in 2004 into my fathers scale, HO. I also have a lumber and Narrow Guage bug, so naturally I went for HOn3. And that is where I am today. Building the beginnings of what will be my empirical layout someday in it's own out building. I read John Allen's book so much as a growing boy, that I wore the cover of both issues I had owned. So I will have G&D roots in my master plan. I of course still am a avid collector of 3 rail and always will be. It is such a nice scale to decorate in and the kids love it more than the scale railroad. Of course they are just coming into the age of learning how to operate my narrow guage so they will soon be spending more time operating than looking at the big stuff.
