Trade tokens, ‘good fors’, ‘due bills’, ‘chips’, by whatever name you call them, have become a fascinating collectable field. Trade tokens are the "good for" tokens, used by merchants as a substitute for money. They will have a merchants name, usually the town and state, and the "good for 5¢" (or other denomination) legend. General stores, groceries, department stores, meat markets, drug stores, saloons, taverns, barbershops, pool halls, and many other types of businesses used tokens.
The hobby of token collecting and the knowledge of history gained through tokens will provide a lifetime of enjoyment. If you have an interest in merchant trade tokens, either of the two organizations below are for you.

My interest in trade tokens began when I found a token from my great-grandfather's store with a metal dectector. With over 25 years spent chasing these trade tokens, my wife and I can truly say it is a rewarding hobby. Our Nebraska token collection includes tokens from 6000+ different merchants and over 700+ different towns. While interested in trade tokens from anywhere, we are always eager to add new Nebraska tokens to our collection. Let us know what you have for sale or trade, and we will make an immediate reply.
