Zan is a Canadian artist working in all media. His work has sold internationally and is collected across four different continents, from Australia to Asia to Europe and North America.

Zan's style is impressionistic and loose, and focuses on colour and suggestion. It builds a conversation between the painting and the viewer where the viewer fills in the details that are merely suggested.

Winner of The Hawk River Log Award in 2009 for plein air painting, and founder OPAS (Ontario Plein Air Society), Zan prefers painting out-doors to working in the studio even in the depth of winter. His language is light and colour, and he enjoys chasing them in the landscape.

When you buy a work of art from me, you have a life time exchange guarantee. At any time you can exchange any work that you have purchased from me directly for another work of the same medium. You may do this only once. Your second purchase will be marked to avoid confusion. To take advantage of this offer

  • You must have the original papers or proof of purchase. 
  • If the new work you wish to receive is of equal or lower cost than the one you have, the exchange is even one-for-one. All you have to pay is Shipping and venue fees (eBay, PayPal etc...).
  • If the work you wish to own is of higher cost than the one you own, than all you have to do is pay the difference plus shipping and venue fees of course.

I stand behind my art

Example:
In 2007, you purchased an Oil painting from me for $200. The painting is not damaged in any way and you still have the original papers that it came with. You see an oil painting of mine that you really like. It is for $350. You contact me and let me know that you would like to exchange the old painting plus $150 for the new painting. I check my records and agree to the exchange. I receive your painting and the $150. I examining the work for damage. I check the papers it came with. All is good. I send you the new painting with new papers. The painting will be marked so you can't exchange it again.

This policy applies to works sold by me directly of course. I cannot dictate payment methods to galleries. The owners tend to get very cranky if I do that ;)
