Zarono is an artist whose true origins are a mystery. Some say he wandered in from the desert, delirous, carrying papyrus scrolls written in dead languages. Others say he was an adventurer left for dead at a Himalayan monastery, where he learned the skills of a thaumaturge. Or perhaps the last myth is correct and Zarono is merely an inmate at a crumbling New Orleans sanitarium, spending the days scratching monstrous drawings on his cell walls.
