MISSION - It is the mission of The Brent Shapiro Foundation for Alcohol and Drug Awareness to become a national leader in the fight against the disease that is now reaching epidemic proportions. This disease is indiscriminate. It affects people of all ages, from all walks of life.

ABOUT BRENT - Brent's experimentation with alcohol and drugs began in his early teens. Over the next few years, experimentation turned into chemical dependence and he went to rehab several times. In his early 20s, Brent turned his life around. He was finishing up at the University of Southern California (USC) and had plans to attend law school. On the evening of October 9, 2005, Brent thought he could experiment with alcohol after eighteen months of sobriety. After a few drinks, he took 1/2 of an Ecstasy pill and slipped into a coma. He was buried a day and a half later. The family founded this organization to honor Brent and to do its part in creating awareness about this disease. The Brent Shapiro Foundation For Alcohol and Drug Awareness urges people to join in the fight against this disease.
