NAME A NEWLY DISCOVERED MICROBIAL SPECIES Discovered in an isolated cave in Northern Iceland by scientists working with Portland State University, this beautiful organism is visible to the eye as long filaments that can reach up to a foot in length. The organism is a new genus and species within the phylum Gammaproteobacteria and grows autotrophically at approximately 42 degrees Celsius. The name chosen by the winning bidder will be used to describe the organism in scientific literature, denoting for all time the winning bidder’s generosity and concern for environmental issues.
