From August 12st through the 19th, fans of Jerry Garcia will get their last opportunity to purchase fixtures and cabinets from his Marin County, California house. All items sold will benefit the Sophia Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, that supports children and families in transition after separation or divorce and the family law court system. Because Sophia is a non-profit organization, the amount paid in excess of the used, non-celebrity value may be tax deductible depending on the winning bidder financial situation.
When Sophia Chairman Henry Koltys purchased Jerry Garcia's house from the Garcia Estate in 1997, he removed these items and put them in storage. These items will be authenticated through land transfer deeds from the Garcia Estate and a sworn affidavit from Koltys that establishes chain of custody.

stereo equipment cabinet
CD/DVD cabinet
a two person Jacuzzi with Kohler brass/chrome faucets from Jerry's Master Bedroom suite
one Kohler bidet from Jerry's Master Bedroom suite
two granite counter tops and custom kitchen cabinets
three sets of Kohler brass/chrome bathroom faucets
large wall mirrors, two round top and two rectangular
Elkay-Lustertone double stainless steel kitchen sink
one Broan trash compactor
six brass carriage lamps
and other, smaller curiosities.
Sophia funding and private cash donations from Koltys have created a free, public version of KidsFirst! child custody and parenting plan software. KidsFirst! will be used by disadvantaged families and family law courts around the country. In addition to the arenting Planreport, the public will also receive three other child reports at no cost:
afe Child Plancreates a child profile in the event the child is missing,
mergency Contactslists critical and emergency contacts and locations, and
"Community Contacts" lists the child's friends and parents, family, and community contacts and locations.
